Hi! My name is Deanna Hill and my husband Jesse and I are navigating this new role of homeowning and making our 1950s south Georgia ranch house feel like us. I say ranch and immediately start backtracking- we have a Mid Century Modern Ranch with craftsmen details- yeah it’s pretty crazy. I love homes with character, and boy does our home have character- wood beams in the main living spaces, smooth red brick floors, original oak floors and wood just everywhere- expected when they owned a lumber mill.

We are excited to take on all the projects, and our dog Addie is so excited to have a yard to run free! Sometimes I feel like we live in the middle of no where due to the jungle of a yard we have, think garden club lover meets twelve years of no cutting back- hello azaleas. Once we get the yard cleared out I cannot wait to start planting- cut flowers, veggies, maybe some fruit trees.. I’m excited!

We are fully aware that projects take time, and we aren’t trying to do anything quick. The house had 67 years of life before us, so I’m not worried about how long that takes.

So hey, welcome to our mess, our snapshots of an imperfect home with imperfect owners, who are so ready to tackle this home, yard, and other projects here and there.

—The Lord sure has a sense of humor, November 2019 we took our engagement pictures at the same Lumber Mill that this family started.
